| My name is Alberto Silvestri and 'Silver' is my nickname. I live in Gressoney since 1998 but as my mother was born here I was in these mountains since I was very young. I was born in 1977 in a little town near Milano where my father lived and worked (now my parents also live in Gressoney). I spent my first 20 years moving between Milano where I studied and Gressoney where I began my mountain life. In 2000 I left university and began to prepare myself to became a mountain guide, as I dreamed since I was child. In 2007 my course began and in 2011 I was finally a guide. Now I work full time with people who love to explore mountains in all conditions: with skis, snowshoes or crampons and axes during winter or spring season; with glacier boots, trekking shoes or climbing shoes during summer and autumn. I'm a IFMGA guide of Aosta Valley council (UVGAM).
